FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEALIFE OFFERS NEXT GENERATION IN UNDERWATER DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
SeaLife 2.1 Megapixel Underwater Camera Now Available Nationwide
The ReefMaster Digital DC250 Land & Sea® Camera is the next generation in the ReefMaster line of cameras that offer both land and sea exposure modes, assuring the correct exposure setting and best pictures in low light or in bright light on land. The new DC250 is equipped with 2.1 megapixel power and a new ergonomic design, as well as the new Quick-Review feature and Instant-Delete function, which allows users instant access to all photos shot while underwater with just a touch of a button. The monitor on the back of the camera shows the picture you just took, and offers the choice to keep it or delete it by snapping the shutter button while the question "Delete this?" appears on the screen for a few seconds.
When you return to your dive boat, friends are impressed when you bring back nothing but great shots. The feature also saves memory space, as unwanted images are instantly cleansed from the memory card.
ReefMaster Cameras are designed for One-Button-Operation, although they come in different models designed for leisure divers or for more advanced underwater photographers who want more control over the camera functions.
Built to provide exceptional control and excellent results in any underwater condition, or even in harsh above-water conditions such as intense sun, the DC250 is waterproof and safe to a depth of 200 feet, with a single, non-lube O-ring. The camera is fully rubber-armored with black cushioned grips, for a soft, comfortable feel and ease of handling. Photos can be composed via a large 1.6-inch, color LCD monitor on the back of the camera; or users can frame subjects through a top-mounted SportsFinder. Either way, composition is simple, even when viewing subjects through a dive mask. An ergonomically located shutter button provides easy, quick access to both the "record" and "delete" functions.
All digital models in the SeaLife ReefMaster line feature three operation modes, including two modes that take into account the unique aspects of underwater photography.
'Sea' Mode
To compensate for low-light conditions that naturally occur as divers travel below the water's surface, users can set the new DC250 to "Sea" Mode. Once set in this mode, the shutter speed and aperture automatically adjust to compensate for these difficult light conditions, ensuring vivid images without worry of underexposure.
And, with the Instant Delete function, users are guaranteed to return to land with a set of stunning images. In "Sea" mode, users can preview captured images on the LCD Monitor and delete those they do not like within three seconds by depressing the shutter button, providing the opportunity to eliminate less-than-perfect photos and save storage space for better shots. To help conserve power during underwater adventures, SeaLife's Reefmaster Digitals offer the added option of shutting off the LCD monitor while the camera is on. With LCD off, users can compose photos using the large top-mounted SportsFinder.
'External Flash' Mode
Although the new DC250 features an on-camera flash that helps illuminate objects well below the surface, it's also compatible with SeaLife's External Flash unit, enabling users to illuminate objects from different angles and achieve bright photos well beyond the reach of sunlight. Because the External Flash is a slave unit activated via the on-camera flash, no sync cord is necessary. Set the camera to "External Flash," and it automatically de-activates the digital pre-flash to prevent early activation.
'Land' Mode
For precision photos of on-land subjects, users simply remove the internal camera from the Easy-Dive System and set it to "Land" mode. In this mode, the DC250 functions as traditional digital camera. Featuring a large LCD monitor, three resolution levels, TTL exposure control, macro ability, USB computer connection and video connection, the DC250 produces equally sharp, clear images on land as they do underwater.
Based on research conducted with experienced divers, SeaLife has re-modeled its digital line to provide improved handling and comfort, with added features for photographic versatility. In addition to featuring One-Button operation, the DC250 Easy-Dive System is designed for ease-of-use and allows users to toggle the LCD monitor "on" or "off" to conserve battery power. The power on/off button is also accessible.
The ReefMaster Digital DC250 features 8 MB built-in memory. An SD Card can be added for up to 256MB of memory. The ReefMaster Digital features an Auto Power-Save function that preserves battery life during extended dives. The camera is powered by two AA batteries or via a 3.3 volt AC-DC Adapter.
This model comes complete with MGI Photo Suite IV software, USB cable, video cable, instruction manual and soft case for inner camera. The new ReefMaster Digital is available in dive and select photo stores nationwide for a suggested list prices starting at $299.95.
All ReefMaster Digital cameras are designed to accept the full range of SeaLife accessories including rechargeable SeaLife NiMH long-life batteries, External Flash units, Flash Diffuser, 8X and 16X Macro Set, 3X Close-Up Lens/Underwater Filter, Monitor Lens Shade, 24mm Wide-Angle Lens, protective carrying cases and instructional guides.
