Features
Two Powerful Sea Dragon 2500 Lumen Lights Included – The ultimate underwater smartphone housing system with two brilliant color enhancing wide beam lights (120° each). The SportDiver Ultra mounts to the roomy “Ultra Dual Tray” and is handled by two included grips. The brilliant lights add brightness and color, up to 2500 lumens each with a color temperature of 5000 Kelvin. The two lights prevent shadows and can be further spread out with SeaLife optional Flex-arms (SL9901 – not included)
𝐒𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐋𝐚𝐛 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 – The Sealife SportDiver Ultra was recently selected by PADI Scuba Diving Magazine’s ScubaLab editors as their “Tester’s Choice” for underwater smartphone housings. Scubalab tested six underwater phone housings, of which the SportDiver Ultra was awarded the top-pick.
𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 & 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞 – The larger SportDiver ULTRA housing for most Android models and iPhone 10 & up is waterproof for dives down to 130 feet using its cam-lock sealing mechanism. The interior tension spring and rubber grip tabs hold your phone in place while adding shock protection. Should you not seal the case correctly the newly designed AUDIBLE & VISUAL MOISTURE & PRESSURE sensors will quickly notify you. The anti-fog Moisture Muncher capsule prevents internal fogging from residual moisture
𝐒𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐞 – Whether you use the Sea Dragon 2500F Underwater Photo & Video Lights or the included filter on the SportDiver ULTRA housing, your images will turn out like those of a professional underwater photographer. The COB LED technology with a Color Rendering Index of 90 closely mimics natural sunlight so all you see are the vivid colors as they truly appear in nature. No more washed out blue pictures
𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 & 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐔𝐬𝐞 – The SportDiver camera controls won’t change the normal way you take pictures. You have access to all your popular camera controls settings including Zoom, Focus, White Balance, Tint, Lens selection, and more. You can easily switching between photos and video. The housing now offers 7 mounting points to easily connect the Flex-Connect Tray and accessories. It features a large shutter lever for easy picture taking with gloved or bare hands
𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 – Your phone is invaluable with your pictures, music, messages, & emails and this is why we test every case before it is packaged. We also know things get lost and include extra rubber grip tabs, spare O rings for the housing and Vacuum Check Port, O-ring lubricant & removal tool, an additional Moisture Muncher Capsule, Travel Case, Deluxe Wrist Strap and two AAA batteries

*CRI is a measure of a light source’s ability to show object colors “realistically” or “naturally” compared to daylight, which has a CRI of 100 and represents the maximum value.
The beam angles for the Sea Dragon lights are shown as the true, tested “in-air” (above water) beam angle. Underwater, due to light refraction, the angle tightens to approximately 33% less.

FAQs
Important: If you are experiencing any problems with the SportDiver underwater housing or app, please refer to the online troubleshooting advice for solutions. https://www.sealife-cameras.com/sportdiver-troubleshooting-technical-updates/
Q: How reliable is the waterproof seal?
A: All SeaLife SportDivers (SL400-U, SL405 and SL408) are depth-tested and include a leak prevention system to ensure the waterproof seals are safe and secure. The housing features a pre-dive vacuum pressure test that checks the seal quality before entering the water. A pop-up message alerts you if the housing is not sealed properly. The housing also includes an internal wet sensor that alerts you in the unlikely event water enters the housing.
Q: What is the waterproof depth rating of the SportDiver housing?
A: The SL405 SportDiver Ultra and SportDiver SL400-U underwater smartphone housings are depth rated to 130ft/40m. The SL408 SportDiver S is depth rated to 100ft / 30m. Every SportDiver housing is depth tested to ensure it is waterproof and operational to the specified depth.
Q: Is my phone compatible with the SportDiver housing?
A: There are several different SportDiver housings available, which are compatible with 99% of the smartphones in the market. For a complete list of compatible phones, click here: sealife-cameras.com/sportdiver-compatibility.
Q: Will the SportDiver Camera app work with my phone?
A: The SportDiver camera app officially supports iPhones capable of running the current and previous iOS versions. The SportDiver app will most likely work with older iPhones that cannot be upgraded to the current or previous iOS. While we can’t guarantee app compatibility with older iPhone models, our internal testing confirms that the SportDiver app performance with many older iPhones is okay. If you’re using an older device, we recommend downloading the free app to confirm it is fully operational. For Android phones, it is recommended to use a phone capable of running the current and previous Android operating system for optimal performance. However, the SportDiver camera app is officially compatible with phones capable of running Android 6.0 and up.
Q: Does the SportDiver app include the same camera settings as the phone’s native camera app?
A: The SportDiver app includes many of the phone’s native camera settings. Not all the phone’s native camera settings are supported. We recommend downloading the SportDiver app to your phone and see what settings are supported with your phone model. The free SportDiver app is available in the Apple App Store or Google Play app store.
Q: Can I lock and unlock the phone when it is inside the SportDiver housing to save battery power?
A: It is not possible to lock or unlock the phone when it is inside the housing. The phone must be unlocked and SportDiver app running when it is inside the housing. The app includes a power save feature that dims the screen by 80% and turns off the camera. Push any button to “wake-up” the phone. It is recommended to close all apps running in the background. The power save will allow most phones to operate inside the housing for at least 2+ dives without opening or charging the phone between dives.
Q: Can I take a picture while recording video?
A: Yes, for iPhones. This feature is called “PIV” or Picture-in-Video. The SportDiver iOS app (for iPhones) will capture an image when pushing the Mode button while recording video. We plan on adding PIV to the SportDiver Android app with a future app update.
Q: Will the SportDiver Bluetooth interfere with my dive computer or other Bluetooth devices?
A: There should be no interference issues with the SportDiver and any other Bluetooth devices. The SportDiver has been tested and certified for FCC and Bluetooth compliance.
Q: Is there a way to use the SportDiver without the vacuum pressure leak alarm or is it mandatory?
A: Yes, you can disable the pre-dive vacuum pressure leak test, but we do not recommend that. The water sensor leak alarm cannot be disabled. In the unlikely event of a water leak while underwater, the leak alarm will activate.
Q: What is the difference between the JPG and the RAW image file?
A: The JPEG is the processed and compressed image using the phone’s image processing technology. The RAW file is the unprocessed, uncompressed file coming from the phone’s image sensor. RAW files tend to be about 5 times larger than JPEG files and will allow more photo editing ability.
Q: Is a lens adapter available? Can I use an external wide-angle or macro “wet” lens with the housing?
A: Yes, the SL081 Lens Adapter allows you to mount most underwater wide angle or macro lenses that have a 52mm or 67mm threads. For more information, please visit sealife-cameras.com/product/sport-diver-52-67mm-lens-adapter/
Q: Can I use the phone’s flash or connect an external strobe?
A: No. The phone’s LED Flash is next to the lens and will cause internal glare. Therefore, the phone’s flash has been disabled. Another issue is that the phone uses a pre-flash to control exposure. That requires a special strobe to mimic the pre-flash and then deploy a primary flash, which strobes typically won’t do. A photo-video light is the best lighting accessory and easy to use.
Q: What is maximum operating altitude for the SportDiver housing?
A: The SportDiver housing vacuum pressure check (leak analysis) works up to altitude of 6000 ft / 1829m (11.8 psia). At higher altitude, the SportDiver LED status indicator will show a red/green/yellow error code.
Q: Can I use all the available phone lenses on my phone?
A: It depends on the phone make and model. All iPhone lenses are available for use in the Lens Settings menu. Android phones may only use Wide and Ultrawide lenses. The Telephoto lens is accessible by zooming with the Wide lens – when the zooming magnification reach the telephoto lens magnification, it will automatically switch to Telephoto. Some ultrawide lenses on Android phones may vignette because of the lens location.
